This was the principal design objective when we built the DC Orisant. The DC Orisant is one of the few ships active in the market that features fully redundant design according to DP2 standards. In other words, all critical components and systems such as electric motors, pumps, generators and bow thrusters are duplicated. So if anything fails, we can always complete the voyage and the job at hand. This approach guarantees optimum operational reliability.

Dynamic Positioning, spud poles and bucket wheel system

Like the Reimerswaal, the DC Orisant is extensively equipped with innovative systems. Dynamic Positioning for pinpoint positioning accuracy. Spud poles for flexibility, speed and safety when offloading dry solids. And a bucket wheel system that allows efficient, flexible and safe deposition.

Sustainable

The DC Orisant is completely diesel-electric. All systems are equipped with electric motors and the six generators are controlled by an advanced power management system (PMS). This results in optimum fuel economy and minimises CO2 emissions.
